PESHAWAR: Peshawar High Court has sought a report from the Chief Secretary on action taken against those responsible for the Swat carnage in which 12 lives of Punjab tourists were lost.

Hearing on the petition filed regarding the Swat tragedy, Chief Justice SM Atiq Shah asked the Chief Secretary what happened against those who were responsible for negligence in the Swat carnage. The Chief Secretary said that the persons were identified in the report of the Provincial Inspection Team, and the report would be submitted soon.

The government is not implementing the report and taking action against those who have committed negligence, the Chief Justice said. The inspection team representative said that action is being taken against those who have committed negligence.

The Provincial Inspection team representative said that a charge sheet has been prepared and handed over to those responsible for the Swat tragedy. The Chief Justice ordered to submit the action report be submitted to the court within the next seven days.

He remarked that it was not a minor tragedy, more than 12 lives have been lost, and the institutions and relevant officers and officials have been identified in the report.
