PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has implemented the energy-saving policy decision of the National Judicial Policy Making Committee on Thursday.

The court will operate from Monday to Thursday, with Friday to Sunday being holidays. The concerned branch for filing new cases will remain open on Friday and Saturday with limited staff.

The fuel allocation for judges has been reduced by 50%. According to a notification from the Registrar of the Peshawar High Court, a new administrative order, approved by the Chief Justice, has been issued to implement measures for energy conservation.

The notification states that the fuel allocation for judges of the Peshawar High Court has been reduced by 50%, in accordance with directives from the National Judicial Policy Making Committee.

The new working schedule will come into effect immediately for all benches of the Peshawar High Court. A new schedule has also been issued for subordinate courts, reducing the number of judges on Friday and Saturday, with instructions to the concerned Sessions Judges to implement it.

KPPRA: Private schools in KP to observe weekend closures

Earlier, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Private Schools Regulatory Authority (KPPRA) announced that all private schools in the province would remain closed on Fridays and Saturdays for two months. An official notification regarding this decision has been issued.

According to this notification, all private schools in the province would remain closed on Fridays and Saturdays to promote better usage of energy and fuel conservation. The authority issued a notification in this regard and claimed that this decision is a part of the Fuel Conservation and Response Initiative. According to this initiative, there would be a reduction in fuel usage and better management of fuel resources would be ensured in the province.

According to education experts, this decision would not only help in saving fuel but would also provide students and teachers with rest on two days of the week.
