The Peshawar High Court has issued a written order of the previous hearing on the petition of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader and Member of National Assembly Dr. Amjad Ali against the ban on foreign travel, in which the court has allowed him to go abroad once.

According to the written order, the court, while seeking responses from the parties, has directed that the petitioner be allowed to go abroad once. The court was informed that Dr. Amjad Ali has to go to participate in the “International Visitor Leadership Young Parliamentarian Program”, which will continue from March 28 to April 20.

According to the petitioner’s lawyer, Dr. Amjad Ali was leaving to participate in the program when he was offloaded at the airport. An application was filed in the court on this.

On the other hand, the Assistant Attorney General took the position that the petitioner’s name was included in the list on the recommendation of intelligence agencies. According to him, Dr. Amjad Ali is accused of being involved in anti-state activities and FIRs have also been registered against him.

The court said in its order that a report on the alleged criminal cases of the petitioner was sought from the parties at the previous hearing, but the report has not been submitted yet.

The court also clarified that the petitioners are not going abroad for any activity that could harm the integrity of Pakistan. According to the order, Dr. Amjad Ali has been directed to obtain NOC from the Speaker of the National Assembly for traveling abroad.

The Peshawar High Court has directed the parties to submit a complete report to the court by the next hearing.
