PESHAWAR: Lawyer of a petitioner, Noman Mohib Advocate, appealed to the judges of Peshawar High Court to intervene in the matter against uploading immoral and vulgar content on TikTok, which creates social evils in society.

Justice Naeem Anwar and Justice Kamran Hayat heard the petition, and the court has sought a response from the federal government, PTA, FIA and Social Media Regulatory Authority. The Lawyer said that daily, people engage in obscene talk and indecent acts on TikTok Live, while People are also earning money on TikTok from these immoral talks and indecent acts.

He informed the court that obscene talk and indecent acts have been hurting society, while the Social Media Regulatory Authority was introduced after the amendment to the PECA Act, and it is not fully functional to trace those elements who are creating evils in society.

He said that in this case, the government is not serious about stopping the uploading of obscene content. Justice Naeem Anwar said that they are seeking a response from the parties in this regard.

The court sought responses from the parties concerned after preliminary arguments and adjourned the petition.
