PESHAWAR: A large network of illegal cigarette trade has been unearthed in the city of Peshawar. According to sources, teams of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) have identified 14 markets in the city of Peshawar where the illegal cigarette trade is being carried out.

These markets are then used to distribute the illegal cigarettes to other areas of the city of Peshawar. Some of the markets identified in the city of Peshawar include the popular business centers of People Mandi, Sabzi Mandi Sikander Pura, and Karkhano Market, where evidence of the illegal cigarette trade has been found.

According to investigators, the markets in the city of Peshawar have been identified as major centres of the illegal cigarette trade, and the smuggled goods have been distributed to other areas of the city of Peshawar.

A large-scale operation against the illegal cigarette trade is expected to take place before and after the Eid holidays in the city of Peshawar, as the illegal cigarette trade is causing a huge loss to the national exchequer. Several government officials involved in the illegal cigarette trade have also been identified.

The illegal trade of cigarettes has turned out to be a major problem in the region of Peshawar, affecting the legal structure of the tobacco sector. As the authorities gear up for their crackdown, the move is expected to have a major impact on the economy of the region.
