PESHAWAR (Salman Yousfzai): The Vice Chancellor of the University of Peshawar has established a fact-finding inquiry committee to investigate alleged viral modeling videos involving female students during a recent welcome party organized by the Institute of Health Sciences.

According to an official order issued by the university, the committee will examine all aspects of the incident that occurred during the welcome party, which took place on January 15, 2026, at the University Public school auditorium, to uncover the truth.

The inquiry committee will be chaired by Professor Dr. Anoush Khan, with other members including Professor Dr. Shahida Aman (Chairperson, Department of Political Science), Dr. Muhammad Irfan Faiz (Chief Proctor/Assistant Professor, Department of Geology), Dr. Abrar Khan (Deputy Director, Student Societies/Assistant Professor, Department of Criminology), Dr. Akhtar Amin (Additional Registrar, Establishment), and Mohammad Amal Khan (Additional Director, Administration), who will also serve as the committee’s secretary.

As stated in the university’s notification, the committee has been instructed to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation and to submit its report and recommendations to the competent authority within three days.

The controversy arose after videos surfaced on social media, showing female students allegedly engaged in modeling activities during the welcome party, prompting strong reactions from various groups and calls for an official investigation.

The university administration has assured that appropriate action will be taken against those responsible based on the findings of the inquiry report, in accordance with the university’s regulations.
