PESHAWAR: Advisor to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sports and Youth Affairs, Taj Muhammad Khan Tarand, visited the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar on Wednesday and inspected the preparations for matches commencing from March 7.
The Advisor was accompanied by Secretary Sports KP, Muhammad Asif and Director General of Sports Tashfeen Haider. During the visit, the Sports Advisor evaluated the preparations at the stadium for the upcoming National T20 Tournament, which is set to begin in Ramadan.
He expressed satisfaction with the condition of the ground, security measures, facilities for cricket fans, and other administrative arrangements, commending the sports department for their efforts.
Additionally, Taj Muhammad Khan Tarand delivered encouraging news to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: this year’s Pakistan Super League and National T20 matches will take place at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium. This announcement was met with enthusiasm from cricket fans in Peshawar and throughout the province.
He emphasised that the revival of sports activities in the province, which has been affected by terrorism, is a significant and positive development. The provincial government is actively working to enhance sports facilities and promote healthy activities for the youth.
Furthermore, he stated that under the vision of Founding Chairman Imran Khan and the leadership of Chief Minister Sohail Khan Afridi, providing quality sports facilities for the youth remains a top priority. He assured that all available resources are being utilised for this purpose.
