After five days long closure of M-1 Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway the situation is currently open following the court order to open all highways and motorways.
The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has issued a strict order for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and police to reopen all blocked roads and entry/exit points today.
Official travel advisories from the National Highway and Motorway Police (NHMP) as of early this morning (roughly 4:45 AM) marked the M-1 sector as “Road & Weather Clear.”
For the past 5 days, the motorway was severely affected, particularly at the Swabi Interchange (KM 420) and Burhan Interchange (KM 387). While legal orders are in place to clear these, some residual delays or local diversions may exist as the protesters disperse.
The weather is currently hazy but generally clear for travel. Unlike earlier in the winter, there are no active closures due to dense fog on the M-1 today.
