PESHAWAR: The National Highways and Motorway Police announced on Monday that M-1 Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway have been reopened for traffic.

According to the motorway police spokesperson motorway M-1 from Peshawar to Islamabad has been reopened to all types of traffic after visibility improved. Earlier, the M1 motorway from Peshawar Toll Plaza to Rashkai was closed for all kinds of traffic due to Dense fog and extremely low visibility. The motorway police spokesperson stated that the closure of motorways is totally for the purpose of the safety of citizens and to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of people.

Motorway Police Spokesperson emphasized the importance of cautious driving during foggy conditions, advising citizens to avoid unnecessary travel during foggy hours, complete journeys during daylight and reach destinations before fog sets in, use fog lights in vehicles, refrain from speeding, and maintain extra distance from the next vehicle.

National Highways and Motorway Police advised the public to keep a greater distance between vehicles and always take advice from helpline 130 before starting the journey to obtain updated traffic and weather information.
