PESHAWAR (Kashifuddin Syed): The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has decided to shift the recruitment policy for district courts. The staff for the lower courts would be hired through the Educational Testing and Evaluation Agency (ETEA).
According to sources, a decision has been made to conduct recruitment for the district judiciary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through the ETEA.
In this regard, the Peshawar High Court has signed a memorandum of understanding with ETEA to ensure that the recruitment process is entirely transparent and merit-based. This initiative aims to facilitate appointments within the High Court establishment and the district judiciary across the province, as stated by the court.
This decision aligns with the Chief Justice’s vision to promote institutional reforms, transparency, and standardisation, ensuring that equal opportunities are provided to qualified and talented candidates while enhancing the reputation of the judicial system.
Under the agreement, ETEA will be responsible for receiving online applications, conducting biometric verification through NADRA e-Sahulat centres, administering computer-based and skill-based examinations, and preparing results along with provisional merit lists based on the prescribed ratios. The examination process will adhere to a secure, confidential, and standardised procedure to eliminate any possibility of irregularities.
The memorandum of understanding will be effective for three years starting from January 2026, with the option for extension by mutual consent. Additionally, a target has been established to complete each recruitment process within 120 days following the closing date for applications.
