PESHAWAR: Pensioners from the Capital Metropolitan Government of Peshawar will be allowed until October 10 to receive the payments still owed for their pensions. If they are not paid by this deadline, the Pensioners will establish a camp at the Metropolitan Office at Bacha Khan Chowk on Monday, October 13, and continue their camp until their demands have been fulfilled.

This notice was made by the leadership group of the Local Government Pensioners Association, Riaz Khan Chairman, Mukhtiar Khan President, Muhammad Fazil Khan – General Secretary, and others.

The Chairman, President, and Secretary expressed severe dissatisfaction with the situation of pending pensions. They pointed out that the provincial government had recently provided a grant to the Metropolitan Government of Rs. 300 million, for which the regional government made a written commitment that the funds would be utilized to pay three months of salaries, pensions, and other expenses. However, they have not lived up to the written agreement.

The Local Pensioners Association noted that more than 4,000 males and females were suffering from the Regional government’s irresponsible management and denial of regular pension payments.
