The auction of “804” personalized number plates and plates named after other political figures (Nawaz Sharif, Zardari) has been stopped for now and will be announced soon online.

According to Excise Department officials, the “804” number plate was not sold because the government wanted it to fetch the maximum bid. Officials believe that if it were auctioned locally, the price is likely to be lower.

Now it has been decided that it will be auctioned online so that people from across the country and internationally can participate, and a huge amount of money can be collected for the government exchequer.

The Excise and Taxation Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recently held an auction of personalized (customized) number plates at Nishtar Hall in Peshawar. Some number plates were sold at record prices in the auction held yesterday:

The number 804 is extremely popular among PTI founder Imran Khan’s supporters due to his prison number, which is why the government plans to sell it online as a valuable asset.
