PESHAWAR: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has released an initial report on the human and financial losses due to severe rainfall that has been ongoing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since March 25.
According to the report issued by PDMA, many districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have witnessed heart-wrenching incidents of roof and wall collapses due to heavy rainfall in recent days. According to the report issued by PDMA on Monday, a total of 9 people have lost their precious lives in incidents related to rainfall in different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa so far. Out of these fatalities, 8 are children, while 1 woman lost her life due to severe rainfall in recent days.
In addition to this, 47 people were injured in incidents related to rainfall in different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa so far. According to PDMA’s report, out of 47 injured people, 26 were men, while 21 injured people were children.
The districts most affected by severe rainfall in recent days include Bannu and North Waziristan districts, where 6 houses were damaged due to severe rainfall in recent days.
According to PDMA’s report, rainfall in different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is ongoing intermittently. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department’s report, rainfall in different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is likely to continue until Tuesday.
According to PDMA’s report, rescue teams have been put on high alert to address emergency situations in different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on time.
People in different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been advised to stay away from vulnerable buildings and avoid seasonal water streams in different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, report stated.
