PESHAWAR: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has forecast heavy rains with thunderstorms in most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from April 2 to 4.

According to the alert issued by the PDMA, heavy rains are expected in all important districts of the province, including Peshawar, Mardan, Swat, Chitral, Dir, Mansehra, Kohat, Bannu and DI Khan.
The PDMA has warned that due to heavy rains, the water level in the Kabul River and its associated rivers may rise, which poses a risk of flash floods in Swat, Chitral, Dir, Buner, Shangla and other sensitive districts.
All the concerned district administrations have been directed to take precautionary measures in low-lying and sensitive areas by issuing flash flood warnings.
According to the PDMA spokesperson, Rescue 1122, Civil Defense and other relevant agencies have been ordered to remain on high alert.
Residents living along the Kabul River have been advised to be cautious, farmers have been advised to move livestock to safer places, and to avoid unnecessary traffic in low-lying areas.
