LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued a show-cause notice to fast bowler Naseem Shah for an alleged violation of his central contract and the board’s media policy, officials confirmed on Friday.
The notice was dispatched under the PCB’s established disciplinary framework following reports of unauthorised conduct by the pacer. Sources within the board indicate that the breach pertains to specific clauses regarding public statements and media engagements that require prior clearance from the governing body.
Naseem has been directed to submit a formal response to the charges within a stipulated timeframe. A spokesperson for the PCB stated that the board will evaluate the explanation provided by the cricketer before deciding on further disciplinary action or the imposition of a penalty.
The move is seen as part of a broader effort by the current management to enforce strict adherence to the terms of the central contracts and maintain team discipline.
