LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) condemned and took strict notice of the news broadcast by a private TV channel, ARY News, about a left-arm fast bowler of the national team.
The PCB has condemned the news in the strongest terms, terming it completely baseless, false and malicious. For the past few hours, some controversial news regarding a Pakistani left-arm fast bowler (whose name was not directly revealed by the PCB but hinted at a big player) was circulating on social media and electronic media. These reports made claims regarding the player’s discipline or future.
“The board strongly condemns the dissemination of such unverified and misleading information. This act is not only irresponsible but also a malicious attempt to damage the morale of the players.” The PCB maintains that the channel did not verify anything with the board before broadcasting the news.
According to sources, the PCB is considering taking up the matter with PEMRA and sending legal notices to the media houses concerned. The board has made it clear that it will not compromise on the dignity and reputation of its players.
