LAHORE: The Punjab Institute of Mental Health (PIMH) witnessed an unusual event when a patient stole an ambulance and drove it for 15 kilometers until hospital personnel brought him to a stop. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning.
The patient, identified as Rehan-ul-Haq, who had been under treatment at the mental health facility for the past four years, managed to steal the ambulance after deceiving security guards. At around 4:00 a.m., he started the ambulance, drove past the hospital’s gates, and headed toward Shahdara, a nearby locality. The sound of the ambulance siren echoed through the busy streets of Lahore as he made his way through the city.
When the patient arrived at Shahdara Hospital, the staff of the hospital suspected the patient of hijacking the ambulance and apprehended him. The patient allegedly told the staff of the hospital, “Take my blood.”

The authorities soon arrived at Shahdara Hospital and apprehended the patient, along with the hijacked ambulance, and drove him to the PIMH. During the entire episode, the patient was calm and even clicked photos with the police officials.
This unusual incident has given rise to serious concerns regarding the security arrangements of the mental health care institution. The administration of the hospital has initiated an investigation into the circumstances under which the patient was able to access the ambulance and drive it out without being detected. A four-member committee has been formed to investigate the matter, and the report is expected to be submitted within 24 hours.
Bride arrested for firing during wedding ceremony, groom flees
Similarly, in another strange incident, a bride was arrested by the police for firing a weapon during the wedding ceremony, while the groom escaped from the scene. The incident occurred in the Mandrah area, where a video of the bride firing a gun during the wedding surfaced, after which the police took immediate action.
According to police reports, the bride was detained after the popularity of the wedding video of the bride, as she was seen wearing a wedding gown in the video. Authorities charged her with public firearm discharge at a public gathering. The police discovered a .30-bore pistol which belonged to the bride during their investigation.
When police officers arrived at the location they found the bride present but her husband Shahryar Ali had already escaped the area. ASI Wasim Akhtar is conducting an investigation after officers reported the situation to him.
In recent weeks, the country has experienced multiple strange wedding incidents which have drawn attention toward the unusual things that happen during wedding festivities.
The police are still searching for the groom, Shahryar Ali. The investigation to locate him is in progress. The authorities are also investigating the circumstances that led to the firing incident and how the gun was taken to the wedding.
