ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ weekly inflation has gone up once more keeping the overall annual inflation rate at 3.53%, as per the most recent report of the Federal Bureau of Statistics (FBS).

According​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ to the report, there was a 0.07% rise in prices as a comparison to the last week. Out of 51 indispensable items, the prices of 16 items were increased, those of 13 items were decreased, and the prices of 22 items remained the same.

Wherever, the prices of tomatoes went up by 57.03%, that of garlic by 2.61%, and that of sugar by 2.23%. The prices of bananas (0.72%) and tea (0.59%) were also a little bit higher besides that of diesel, beef, cooking oil, LPG, and ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌firewood.

In contrast, the price of onions dropped by 12.38% and that of chicken by 8.07%. Potatoes, flour, eggs, moong dal, and chickpeas also recorded price declines during the week.

The current weekly report portrays the continuous changes in the prices of the most necessary goods that challenge the lives of people living all over the ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌country.
