PESHAWAR: The National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) has confirmed two new polio cases in the southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to details, new polio cases were detected in Lakki Marwat and North Waziristan districts of the province.

NEOC confirmed that the total number of cases in Pakistan this year has risen to 26.

Health authorities urged parents to ensure all children under the age of five receive the polio vaccine during every immunization campaign, to ensure their healthy life, as polio can cause disability for life.

It is worth mentioning that the anti-polio drive has been launched this week in southern KP, Bajaur and Upper Dir, aiming to vaccinate over 1.685 million children.
