MARDAN: Pakistan’s famous Shankar Kebab owner Haji Umar Khitab has passed away after a brief illness here in the Shankar village of Mardan district on Tuesday. Family sources confirmed.
According to his family Haji Umar Khitab breathed his last on Tuesday night, and his funeral prayers will be offered at 11 am at Shankar New Naseer village in Katlang of Mardan on Wednesday
As soon as the news of his death came in, a large number of social and business figures and fans of the area reached his residence to offer condolences.
Haji Umar Khattab’s family was associated with this historic kebab business even before the formation of Pakistan, and he himself was keeping this art alive in the fourth generation.
The kebabs prepared by him are equally popular not only in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but also across the country.
