Pakistani Air Force fighter jets carried out low-level flights over Afghanistan’s southern city of Kandahar, with the area reportedly echoing with bursts of gunfire, sources said.
According to sources, the jets flew at extremely low altitude within Kandahar’s airspace, while firing from the aircraft caused loud gunfire-like sounds that reverberated across the area.
Pakistan’s armed forces carried out a major retaliatory operation in Afghanistan’s southern city of Kandahar, destroying the headquarters of the 313 Badri Intelligence Brigade following drone attacks a day earlier, sources said.
According to sources, the Pakistan Air Force targeted a specific compound located in District 13 of Kandahar. The site was reportedly established for a special forces unit under the direct directives of the Taliban’s supreme leader, Hibatullah Akhundzada.
Sources said the strike completely destroyed facilities used by the 313 Badri Intelligence Brigade and special guards stationed at the location.
The site was believed to serve as a central hub for planning militant activities and coordinating operations targeting Pakistan. Members of the 313 Badri Corps and associated special guard units were reportedly overseeing cross-border activities from the compound.
By targeting the sensitive location, the operation is said to have significantly disrupted a network allegedly involved in cross-border attacks and drone operations against Pakistan, sources added.
