ISLAMABAD: The Immigration and Passport Department has simplified the procedure for citizens by outlining the steps to apply for a passport online via the e-services portal.
Individuals can now submit applications for a passport without waiting in lengthy queues. The Passport Department posted a video on media explaining the procedure, encouraging people to go to the official site www.onlinemrp.dgip.gov.pk for online passport renewal requests.
The video additionally clarifies that users with an existing account need to select the “Login” button. On the one hand new users without an account must choose the “Register” button complete all necessary fields in the registration form and verify that they provide the accurate mobile number and email address.
Once users have filled in the details they must input the provided code. You can use “Next” to request an email with proof of the verification link where the user, after getting the email, should click the link and enter the verification code. Upon completing registration users should navigate to the “Login” area enter their email and password and sign in.
More information is given, along with guidelines, on how to file an application. Users have the option to select from five choices according to their requirements.
It is essential to remember that for renewing a passport the passport must be valid for than one year. Individuals with alterations in their passport information, like name or occupation cannot apply for online renewal.
Additionally, individuals have the option to choose the passport office from the drop-down list to prevent lengthy commutes when they need to visit the office.
The video also explains the type of photo required for both men and women while applying for an online passport. It specifies that the uploaded file size should not exceed 1MB and that all documents should be in PNG, JPG, or JPEG format.
