CHAMAN: In a swift and decisive action, the Pakistan Army successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt by militants from the Fitna al-Khawarij group along the Chaman border in Balochistan. The attempt involved a group of three to four militants who were trying to breach the security fence.
Security sources confirmed that the militants were attempting to cut through the border fence when they came under effective fire from the army. In the ensuing exchange, one militant was killed, while the remaining militants sustained injuries and managed to escape the area.
During the operation, security forces recovered several items, including four to five improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and tools used for cutting the border fence. These items confirmed the militants’ intention to breach Pakistan’s border security.
Sources stated that the timely and coordinated response by the Pakistan Army thwarted the militants’ plans and ensured the safety of the border area. This operation is part of ongoing efforts to secure the Pak-Afghan border and prevent cross-border terrorist activities.
