ISLAMABAD: According to the latest figures released by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), the number of mobile subscribers in Pakistan reached over 202.5 million by January 2026, following the addition of 2 million new users in the month alone.

As of December 2025, the subscriber base stood at approximately 200.5 million. The data also shows a significant increase in 3G and 4G users, which now total nearly 153.3 million.

Overall, the country’s tele-density has risen to around 82 percent, reflecting the expansion of mobile network coverage and improved access for users.

Experts say the growing reach of mobile networks and the availability of modern technologies have enhanced access to education, business, employment, and other essential services, contributing to a notable increase in digital inclusion across Pakistan.

The trend underscores the country’s ongoing efforts to strengthen telecommunications infrastructure and provide citizens with improved connectivity and digital services.
