Pakistan’s Under-19 cricket team clinched the Tri-Nation Series title, defeating Zimbabwe by nine wickets in Harare on Tuesday.
Batting first, Zimbabwe set a victory target of 159 runs all out in 44.4 overs.
Pakistan’s bowler Umar Zaib claimed four crucial wickets.
In response, Pakistan achieved the target for the loss of just one wicket in 16.2 overs.
Pakistani batsman Sameer Minhas remained the top scorer with 114 runs.
PCB announces rewards for under-19 players
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has announced a reward of Rs 5 million for each player of the U-19 cricket team that won the final against India.
The Pakistan U-19 cricket team achieved a remarkable victory over India in the Asia Cup, prompting Mohsin Naqvi to make this generous announcement. According to sources, he revealed the reward during a meeting with the U-19 players and expressed his pride, stating, “You have become warriors and made Pakistan proud.”
On this occasion, the PCB Chairman specifically praised batsman Sameer Minhas, who scored an impressive 172 runs against India, saying, “Sameer Minhas, you are our pride; you played exceptionally well.”
