ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Senator Ishaq Dar, held a bilateral meeting today with the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Turkiye, Hakan Fidan, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting focused on the evolving regional situation and ongoing efforts to promote peace and de-escalation.

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is in Pakistan for consultations along with the Foreign Ministers of Saudi Arabia and Egypt. This trio is engaged in discussions aimed at addressing regional tensions and fostering stability in the Middle East.

During their meeting, Ishaq Dar emphasized the deep historical and fraternal ties between Pakistan and Turkiye, highlighting their shared values, culture, and mutual respect. He expressed satisfaction with the positive trajectory of bilateral relations and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Turkiye across various sectors of mutual interest.

The discussion provided an opportunity to review the full spectrum of bilateral relations, with both leaders agreeing on the importance of deepening their strategic partnership. They exchanged views on regional developments, particularly the situation in Iran, stressing the need for continued dialogue and diplomatic engagement to maintain peace and stability.

Both Pakistan and Turkiye reaffirmed their unwavering support for each other’s core national interests and committed to close coordination moving forward. They also emphasized the importance of collaborating to strengthen their longstanding ties in light of current regional challenges.

Meanwhile, Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty also arrived at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for bilateral consultations with Senator Ishaq Dar. These discussions are expected to focus on regional issues and matters of mutual interest.

This meeting highlights the strong diplomatic ties between Pakistan and Turkiye as both countries continue to collaborate on regional security and development initiatives.
