RAWALPINDI: Pakistan team will face Zimbabwe in the tri-nation T20 series after winning the ODI series against Sri Lanka, as the national cricket team has completed preparations for the T20 tri-series starting today.

The teams of Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe are participating in the series, the first match of which will be played between Pakistan and Zimbabwe at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium today. The players have practiced intensively to overcome the shortcomings of the national team, while the trophy was also unveiled at the start of the series.

National team captain Salman Ali Agha said that the experience of winning the ODI series against Sri Lanka will be beneficial in T20 and young players will be given a chance in the series.Sri Lankan captain Dasan Shanaka said that he will learn from his past mistakes and will not repeat the mistakes of the ODI series in the T20.Zimbabwean captain Sikandar Raza said that he is working on improving his team’s capabilities and will try to reach the final of the tri-series.

It should be remembered that two important players of the Sri Lankan cricket team, captain Charis Asalanka and fast bowler Asitha Fernando, are returning home without participating in the T20 tri-nation series starting tomorrow in Pakistan due to their poor health.

According to the Sri Lanka Cricket Board, both players have been sent home for better treatment, while Dasan Shanaka will take over the interim leadership of the team in their absence. The board clarified that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the health of the players and the team’s performance so that the team can be fully prepared and compete effectively on the field.

This tri-nation series between Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Zimbabwe begins today in Rawalpindi, where the first match will be played between Pakistan and Zimbabwe.
