ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi has said that a decision on participation in the T20 World Cup will be made by this coming Friday.
He stated after a meeting with the Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on Monday. He later tweeted about the decision on his official account, stating,
“Had a productive meeting with the Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. Briefed him on the ICC matter, and he directed that we resolve it while keeping all options on the table. It was agreed that the final decision will be taken either on Friday or next Monday.”
Pakistan would also support the stance of Bangladesh Cricket Board, as they raised their concerns about the ICC recently.

Meanwhile, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has released a revised schedule for the T20 World Cup 2026, including match details for Scotland.
Scotland will start its tournament schedule on February 7 when it plays against the West Indies, according to the newly established timetable. The team will play its second match on February 9 against Italy.
The ICC has established new match scheduling rules which require teams to play at different venues after completing their training sessions. The updated schedule has attracted significant attention from cricket fans worldwide. Many fans had already made their travel and other arrangements based on the previous schedule, but the teams will now use the new schedule to complete their final preparations and strategic planning.
