ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office of Pakistan has issued a strong condemnation of the remarks made by the spokesperson of the Taliban regarding the internal affairs of Pakistan, labelling them “unacceptable” and “irresponsible.”

Shafqat Ali Khan, Foreign Office spokesman. responded to these comments by suggesting that Afghanistan should spend less time talking about and more time dealing with its own problems. “Afghanistan should not meddle in the internal disputes of others and should pay attention to resolving its own problems,” the spokesman stated.

The spokesman also pointed out that the Afghan government should be aware that, under international diplomatic norms, non-interference in the domestic affairs of sovereign states is a basic rule.

“The spokesperson for Afghanistan should stick to subjects that are within their barrier and handle Afghanistan’s issues,” stated Shafqat Ali Khan.

In addition, Pakistan wants to make it clear that it does not need outside consultation or direction when it comes to its internal matters.

“Pakistan practice of keeping out of the internal of other nations has been established over the years and we expect the same level of respect from our neighbors,” the spokesperson stated.

He also reminded the Taliban of their commitments during the Doha peace talks, especially of that concerning preventing the use of Afghan soil for terrorist actions. The Foreign Ministry called for the creation of an inclusive, representative government in Afghanistan, rather than by engaging in baseless propaganda.

“Afghanistan should strive for a stable and inclusive government while not letting itself be drawn into the net of propagandist narratives.”
