Pakistan Shaheens won the final match of the Rising Star Asia Cup final in a thrilling super over competition against Bangladesh-A on Sunday.
In the final played at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha, the capital of Qatar, Pakistan Shaheens set a target of 126 runs for Bangladesh. Pakistan’s batting struggled at the start, with Yasir Khan getting run out on the first ball for unnecessary runs, while Mohammad Faiq returned to the pavilion for 2 runs. Pakistan kept counting their wickets and lost all 10 wickets for 125 runs in the allotted 20 overs.
Saad Masood scored 38, Arafat Minhas 25 and Moaz Sadaqat 23. For Bangladesh, Ripon Mandol took three wickets and Rakibul Hasan took two wickets, while three other bowlers took one wicket each.
Bangladesh defeated India in the semi-finals, while Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka after an exciting match to qualify for the final. Pakistan scored 125 in the first innings of 20 overs while Bangladesh levelled the score after the last ball of the match.
