ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has refuted the misleading statement of the Afghan government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid about the negotiations and declared his statements as distorted and factually incorrect.
As per the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Afghan spokesperson misrepresented the facts related to the Istanbul Talks. Pakistan immediately responded to Afghanistan’s allegations with an offer to take custody of the persons involved and made it clear that the handover of terrorists could only be through the border entry points.
The Ministry of Information stated that Pakistan’s position in this matter has always been clear, consistent, and on record. The false claims made by Afghanistan are in contradiction to the real facts.

Moreover, Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif strongly condemned the recent comments made by the spokesperson of the Afghan Taliban regime, describing them as malicious, misleading, and provocative.
In an official statement, Khawaja Asif reaffirmed that there is complete solidarity among all Pakistanis, including the country’s political and military leadership, regarding Pakistan’s security policies and its comprehensive approach toward Afghanistan.
He said the people of Pakistan, particularly those in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, are fully aware of the treacherous and barbaric patronization of Indian-sponsored terrorism by the Afghan Taliban regime and harbor no misconceptions about its intentions or conduct.
The minister criticized the Afghan Taliban for being a non-representative regime plagued by deep internal divisions and responsible for the continued oppression of Afghan ethnicities, women, children, and minorities, as well as for curbing fundamental freedoms, including expression, education, and representation.

Khawaja Asif further stated that even after four years in power, the Afghan regime has failed to deliver on promises made to the international community and is now attempting to mask its lack of cohesion, stability, and governance through empty rhetoric and by serving as a proxy for external elements.
He reaffirmed that Pakistan’s policy to protect its citizens from cross-border terrorism and the perverted ideology of Khawarij remains unified, unwavering, and firmly anchored in national interest as well as in the pursuit of regional peace and stability.
