The report quotes the late American scholar Stephen P. Cohen, who remarked that Pakistan often secures political successes on the global stage because it is willing to take significant risks to maintain its position. This assertion is validated by Pakistan’s recent diplomatic accomplishments, observed not only in its relations with the United States but also in the less frequently discussed West Asia. A key player in these achievements is Field Marshal Asim Munir, the powerful chief of the army.
Additionally, the report highlights that under Field Marshal Munir’s leadership, Pakistan has attained unexpected successes in its foreign policy. These include US President Donald Trump referring to Field Marshal Munir as “my favourite Field Marshal,” Pakistan nominating Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, and the country taking a decisive stand in support of the Palestinian people in the Gulf.
According to *The Hindu*, the Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement (SMDA) signed between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in September 2025 represents a significant diplomatic success for Pakistan.
