ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) central spokesperson, Shazia Marri, has expressed deep concern over the recent increase in petroleum prices, rejecting the government’s decision as burdensome for the public.

In her statement, she highlighted that the Rs55 per litre increase in petrol and diesel prices represents a significant economic strain on ordinary citizens.

She described the hike, coming for the second time during Ramadan, as deeply regrettable, warning that it would trigger a new wave of inflation and further exacerbate the difficulties faced by the public.

Shazia Marri stressed that instead of providing relief, the government is adding to the financial burden of ordinary people.

She emphasized that the price hike is unacceptable in the current circumstances, as citizens are already grappling with soaring costs of daily essentials.

She urged the government to immediately reverse the increase in petroleum prices and take practical steps to provide relief to the public, warning that higher fuel costs would not only impact citizens but also harm the national economy.

she further noted that economic stability cannot be achieved without public-friendly policies and called on the government to take prompt and effective measures to control inflation and facilitate citizens.
