The world has welcomed the Iran-US ceasefire agreement and praised Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts in facilitating it. Several countries and world leaders, including Russia, the European Union, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Malaysia, New Zealand, and Australia, have described this agreement as a significant breakthrough for peace.

The Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council stated to Reuters that the agreement represents a victory for wisdom. Former Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni suggested that Pakistan deserves a Nobel Prize for its role in this progress.

 

The Saudi Arabian Foreign Ministry welcomed the ceasefire, calling it a positive step toward stability in the region. The European Union emphasized the importance of the agreement and stated that the door to mediation should remain open to resolve conflicts. The EU’s foreign policy chief spoke with Ishaq Dar by phone, discussing the regional situation and commending Pakistan for its efforts in achieving the ceasefire.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s role in the agreement and mentioned that Germany is in contact with the United States and other partners. He also reiterated Germany’s commitment to ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim welcomed the ceasefire and recognized the diplomatic efforts of Shahbaz Sharif, affirming his country’s continued support for peace. He also called for an end to the war in Gaza and the unhindered provision of humanitarian aid.

 

New Zealand’s Foreign Minister Winston Peters also welcomed the ceasefire, acknowledging the contributions of other nations, including Turkey and Egypt, but noted that further efforts are required to achieve sustainable peace. Similarly, the Australian Prime Minister described the ceasefire in the Middle East as a positive development.
