Pakistan Day celebrated with patriotic fervor at Pakistan High Commission, New Delhi where Charge Affairs, Pakistan High Commission, Saad Ahmed Warraich hoisted the national flag at the Chancery Lawn.

Messages from the President, Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister were read out on the occasion. The Lahore Resolution of March 23, 1940 proved to be a milestone for the Muslims of the subcontinent in their struggle for a separate homeland.

Under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, this collective movement found expression in the form of the establishment of Pakistan in a short period of seven years, says Saad Ahmad Warraich.

We pay tribute to the martyrs of the Pakistan Movement, their great sacrifices are a beacon for the entire nation in protecting the priceless gift of freedom and making sincere efforts for the development and prosperity of the country.

The lesson of history is that only those nations remain truly free which are capable of defending their freedom, Saad Ahmed Warraich said.

Appreciating the role of the brave armed forces in defending the homeland, Saad Ahmed Warraich said that the deterrence developed by Pakistan is not only a cause of stability in South Asia but also a guarantee of regional peace.

Peaceful relations between Pakistan and India can be established only on the basis of equality, mutual respect and peaceful resolution of all disputes, Saad Ahmed Warraich said

The goal of lasting peace and stability in South Asia can only be achieved through a just resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
