Pakistan on Friday conducted strikes against the Kharji Hafiz Gul Bahadur group’s camps located in the border areas of North and South Waziristan, Afghanistan.
In the past 48 hours, Kharjis operating from Afghanistan have attempted to launch multiple terrorist attacks inside Pakistan, which were effectively countered by security forces. As a result of these operations, more than 100 Kharjis have been eliminated.
The Kharjis from the Gul Bahadur Group also executed a vehicle-borne IED attack in North Waziristan, resulting in the martyrdom of a soldier and injuries to several others.
In response to the Kharjis of the Gul Bahadur Group, precision strikes were carried out targeting their leadership. Based on confirmed intelligence reports, these strikes resulted in the elimination of at least 60 to 70 Kharjis along with their leaders.
