Pakistan Bar Council has praised Pakistan’s foreign policy and recent diplomatic achievements, calling them important for establishing peace in the region.
Vice Chairman of the Council, Pir Muhammad Masood Chishti, and Chairman of the Executive Committee, Munir Ahmed Malik, praised the mediation efforts made by the Prime Minister to defuse tensions between Iran and the United States.
The statement issued by the Bar Council also praised the diplomatic efforts of Syed Asim Munir and Ishaq Dar.
According to the Pakistan Bar Council, Pakistan’s effective diplomacy has resulted in a reduction in hostilities between Iran and the United States and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital passageway for global energy transport.
The statement said that the constructive diplomatic actions of the Pakistani government paved the way for a ceasefire and played a key role in reducing tensions in the region.
The council said that Pakistan’s timely and principled stance has further strengthened it as a responsible and peace-loving country. The statement stressed that Iran and the US should avoid any armed conflict in the future and exercise utmost restraint.
The Pakistan Bar Council urged both countries to ensure sustainable dialogue, respect for territorial sovereignty, and adherence to international law. The statement added that an end to tensions is essential for the stability of the Gulf region and a secure global energy supply route.
