CHITRAL: The Pakistan Army’s swift response saved precious lives after a passenger coach met with an accident in the Koragh area of Chitral district.
According to reports, a passenger van travelling from Peshawar to Torkho, Chitral, skidded off the road and plunged into the river bank at Koragh.
The source said the vehicle was carrying 13 passengers at the time of the accident. Two people lost their lives, while several others sustained injuries.
Upon receiving the information, the local unit of the Pakistan Army rushed to the scene and quickly launched a rescue operation, despite severe weather conditions and difficult terrain. The injured were shifted to safe locations and provided with first aid before being transported to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Boni.
The remaining passengers were also moved to safety and given warm clothes and tea. Residents appreciated the Pakistan Army for its swift and timely response.
