The Pakistan Army has achieved a major strategic success during the tension on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. According to security sources, in the operation carried out under Operation “Ghazb  lil-Haq, a 32 square kilometer area of Pakistani land in the Gudwana area in front of the Zhob sector, which had come under the influence of infiltrators and Afghan Taliban, has been completely liberated.

The Special Combat Groups of the Pakistan Army launched a limited-scale ‘tactical action’ on the night of February 27 and 28 based on intelligence information. This operation aimed to prevent cross-border attacks and secure its borders.

Several posts, including the Afghan Taliban’s ‘Tahir Post’, were targeted during the operation. After fierce clashes, the Afghan forces were forced to retreat, after which they took control of this sensitive area of 32 square kilometers while hoisting the Pakistani flag.

According to official figures, more than 350 Afghan Taliban fighters were killed, and hundreds were injured in the recent clashes, while dozens of their tanks and armored vehicles were also destroyed.

Defence experts say that this 32 km area was considered an important infiltration route for terrorists (Fatanta al-Khawarij). Sealing this area is expected to significantly reduce the incidents of terrorism in Pakistan’s border areas, especially in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Although there was a temporary ceasefire on the border from March 19 to March 24, Pakistan has made it clear that any aggression will be responded to with full force to defend its border areas and fences. Several posts, including the Afghan Taliban’s ‘Tahir Post’, were targeted during the operation.
