The Pakistani Army successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt by the Indian Army in the Leepa Valley sector, taking decisive action. The Indian forces suffered significant casualties and material losses during this engagement.
In the operation, eight personnel from the 20 Raj Regiment of the Indian 17 Brigade were killed, and 14 others were injured, including a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) among the deceased.
After the Indian forces displayed white flags, the Pakistani Army ceased firing. The exchange of fire lasted for over three hours, resulting in the destruction of several Indian posts, including Kumar Top, Gowda Naka, Pimple 1, and Pimple 2.
Once the enemy retreated, the situation in the Leepa Valley returned to normal.
