DOHA: The Qatari Foreign Ministry has now confirmed that Pakistan and Afghanistan have come to a consensus on an immediate ceasefire, which is a very significant move towards a peaceful and friendly coexistence of the two countries.

The Qatari Foreign Ministry said that the ceasefire was the outcome of talks in Doha where Qatar and Türkiye conducted as mediators. The ministry pointed out that the pact would become a sturdy ground for the establishment of a new era of peace and stability in the region.

Moreover, both nations have consented to reconvene in the near future to create, and thus, a permanent throughput of peace and cooperation.

The first round of discussions was initiated in Doha with the moderation of Qatari Intelligence Chief Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khalifa. Defense Minister Khawaja Asif led the delegation from Islamabad with the assistance of high-ranking security officials while the Taliban’s Minister of Defense Mohammad Yaqoob was at the head of Kabul’s delegation, together with the head of the Intelligence Agency Abdul Haq Wasiq.

Unrevealed sources claim that the ceasefire pact has been acknowledged as a crucial milestone in the process of trust and communication rebuilding between the two countries after a period of border tensions and shootings.
