PESHAWAR: The editor of Pakhtun Digital, Kashifuddin Syed has said in an interview with a private TV channel that his organisation will never compromise on freedom of expression and journalistic principles.

This statement was made in response to a notice for 50 million rupees issued by Amir Afridi, the brother of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi, against Pakhtun Digital.

Syed stated that Pakhtun Digital has consistently reported news based on credible tweets and video clips from journalists, highlighting that bringing facts to light in the public interest is a fundamental duty of journalism.

In contrast, the notice from Amir Afridi questions why Pakhtun Digital shares tweets, analyses, and comments from senior journalists on its platform.

Despite the pressure, Kashifuddin Syed reaffirmed that Pakhtun Digital will continue to advocate for truth and justice and is prepared to face any legal challenges that may arise.
