COLOMBO:  The Super Eight match between Pakistan and New Zealand in Colombo was called off due to rain. The umpires officially declared the match abandoned because of waterlogging, awarding one point to each team.

Pakistan had won the toss and elected to field first, but the adverse weather conditions prevented any play from starting.

Both fans and teams were disappointed with this decision, as the match was crucial for points and group standings in the Super Eights.

Pakistan’s next match will be against England in Pallekele on Tuesday. The team plans to use this opportunity to improve its performance.

Meanwhile, the ground staff is working to drain the water and enhance conditions to prevent future match disruptions.
