CHAMAN: The Pakistan Army launched a strong retaliatory operation against the Afghan Taliban in response to unprovoked aggression along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, as confirmed by security sources.
According to officials, Pakistani forces targeted and destroyed a major Taliban stronghold known as the Ismatullah Karar Camp in Afghanistan’s Spin Boldak region during a second precision strike. The camp, one of the Taliban’s key operational bases, was reportedly being used to coordinate and launch anti-Pakistan attacks.
Footage released by security sources showed the facility completely destroyed following the strike. The attack inflicted heavy casualties on Taliban fighters and foreign militants present inside the compound, sources said.
The operation forms part of Pakistan’s ongoing, targeted response to recent Afghan hostilities, aimed at safeguarding the country’s borders and citizens.
Separately, a video has surfaced allegedly showing an Afghan Taliban militant surrendering to Pakistani troops after intense cross-border fighting. Reports suggest that Pakistani forces captured several Afghan border posts following unprovoked firing from across the border.
Security officials said the exchange occurred late Friday night when Afghan forces initiated fire on Pakistani positions. Pakistani troops retaliated with what was described as a “swift, robust, and effective” counterattack on militant hideouts and outposts involved in the aggression.
