Pakistan army completed major developmental scheme in Bagan Bazar and re-constructed the shops being damaged in the sectarian violence of 2024.
In November 2024, dozens of shops were torched in Bagan Bazaar, which was a target of sectarianism in Kurram district. Irreparable damage was caused to the businesses and economic activities of the local people by the miscreants.
However, the local administration and the Pakistan Army took up the task of rebuilding Bagan Bazaar to help the local population. In the first phase, financial assistance was provided to the people of Bagan with the help of the Pakistan Army and the local administration.
The phased reconstruction of Bagan Bazaar for the people of Kurram district by the Pakistan Army and the district administration is successfully underway.
On the completion of the second phase, the keys of the shops were also distributed among the shopkeepers. During a ceremony held at Bagan Primary School, the keys of the 48 shops to be constructed were handed over to the owners.
Apart from the shops, a madrasa, waiting area, children’s park and 50 street lights have also been installed. The ceremony was attended by officers of the Pakistan Army, Deputy Commissioner Kurram and a large number of people of the area.
The people of the area appreciated this initiative and thanked the Pakistan Army from the bottom of their hearts and termed it an important step towards the development of the area.
