The scholars of Pakistan and Afghanistan have started adopting a common stand to oppose armed struggle, which aims to establish peace and order in the region.

During this important announcement, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that the scholars of both countries have agreed that they will not support armed struggle and will strongly oppose attempts to solve any problem through violence.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman clarified that Islam teaches peace and love, and any action that promotes violence or terrorism cannot have any religious or moral justification. He said, “the message of Islam is against all forms of violence and we have to highlight that the path of armed struggle only leads to chaos and destruction.”

On this occasion, Afghan scholars also strongly supported Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s stand and said that the united stand of the scholars of both countries is important not only for Pakistan and Afghanistan but also for the entire region. Afghan scholars indicated that if scholars and religious leaders of both countries unite and raise their voices against violence, it could prove to be a major step towards establishing peace in the region.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman further said that in order to reduce the tension that has been witnessed between Pakistan and Afghanistan in recent years and improve bilateral relations, it is necessary to further promote the message of peace in both countries. He said that the solution to all global problems comes through dialogue and talks, not through gunfire.

On this occasion, the scholars stress that the role of the religious community is very important in protecting the people of the region from terrorism and violence. He said that if Muslims stand in a row and express their united strength, the enemy will never be able to succeed.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman also suggested that scholars should realize their religious responsibility and launch a public awareness campaign against terrorism. He said that this will not only change the mindset of the people but will also send a positive message that Muslims can solve their problems through peaceful means.
