The interior ministers of Pakistan and Afghanistan met on the sidelines of the Economic Cooperation Organization meeting in Tehran, in which the two leaders also shook hands.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi stressed resolving the Pak-Afghan issue through dialogue. Mohsin Naqvi said that just as differences arise in every household, they should also resolve matters through dialogue. It should be noted that the talks between Pakistan and the Afghan Taliban in Istanbul have failed. After four days of talks, Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar said that a workable solution could not be found in the talks. The Taliban, despite the evidence, did not give any guarantee to stop cross-border terrorism.

He said that Pakistan will continue operations to eliminate terrorists and their supporters. The Afghan delegation repeatedly deviated from the main issue of the talks and deviated from the key point. He said that the evidence presented by Pakistan was sufficient and undeniable. The only agenda of the talks was to stop attacks on Pakistan from Afghan soil.
