LAHORE: Rescue 1122 has successfully saved the lives of 2.5 million people after evacuating them during the worst floods in Punjab.

While sharing the data with the media, Farooq Ahmed, spokesperson for Rescue 1122 Punjab, stated that the evacuation operation also ensured the safe relocation of over 2 million animals to secure locations.

He added that the special rescue operations were launched for those people stranded in flood-affected areas.

He also informed that more than 1,500 boats were utilised during the flood rescue operations.

Regarding the Secretary of Emergency Services in Punjab Dr. Rizwan Naseer’s role in the flood rescue operation, he said that he personally led Rescue 1122’s flood rescue operations across various districts, adding that the Rescue officials continue to serve the public in flood-affected areas.

The spokesperson further said that 1122 teams are also providing essential supplies via rescue boats. The public is advised to call Rescue 1122 helpline or contact the nearest rescue post for immediate assistance.
