Mahmood Khan Achakzai was officially nominated leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly as the opposition alliance submitted a formal application to the Secretary National Assembly.
According to the details, the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party Chairman, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, has been nominated as the Opposition Leader in the National Assembly. In this regard, the opposition has submitted a formal application to the office of the Secretary National Assembly Mushtaq. Those who applied included PTI Chief Whip Aamir Dogar, former Speaker Asad Qaiser, and other opposition leaders.
A total of 74 members of the National Assembly from the opposition alliance have supported Mahmood Khan Achakzai as the Opposition Leader. Three PTI members—Ali Afzal Sahi, Umar Farooq, and Sahibzada Mehboob Sultan—could not sign the application as they were out of the country.
Despite this, the required support from the opposition is complete. The National Assembly’s Special Secretary Mushtaq has received the application, while the Advisor’s Office has allotted a diary number to the application, after which it is now awaiting approval from the Speaker of the National Assembly.
