ISLAMABAD: The opposition alliance’s protest demanding that Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), be moved to a hospital has now entered its third day.

Opposition leaders are staging a sit-in at various locations, including Parliament House, Parliament Lodges, and KP House, while the capital’s busiest highway, Dastur, remains completely closed. The Movement for the Protection of the Constitution of Pakistan has announced that the sit-in will continue until Imran Khan is transferred to Al-Shifa Hospital.

A spokesperson for PTI has stated that no treatment should commence for their founding chairman without the presence of his personal doctors.

Meanwhile, the government’s medical panel, responsible for evaluating Imran Khan’s condition, was unable to visit Adiala Jail during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. The transfer to the hospital will occur based on the recommendations of the medical board.

It is important to note that the government has established a medical panel for this examination, which includes Dr. Amjad and Professor Dr. Nadeem Qureshi. The Supreme Court has mandated the submission of a complete report on Imran Khan’s medical examination by February 16.
